This refers to CustomVue Wavefront-guided LASIK. Wavefront technology is a recent advance in LASIK technique, used for both diagnosis and for guiding the corneal correction.

As a diagnostic tool it gives more precise information about your individual corneal aberrations, or imperfections. It expresses this information mathematically, and from this, a 3-D map of your eye is drawn by the computer. Dr. Carter then uses this map to precisely guide the excimer laser in correcting those aberrations. Since Dr. Carter treats each patient individually, he will use this specific information when treating your eyes.
